Adedalepo Alabi
Policy and Advocacy Apprentice
I am driven by the belief that policies only matter when they improve everyday realities. Through evidence-based policy and advocacy, I work to ensure that justice and livelihood systems deliver real impact for the people who rely on them.
Adedolapo Alabi is a trainee with the policy and advocacy team at the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL). She contributes to research, analysis, and policy engagement to advance people-centred justice across HiiL’s global and regional programmes.
She was drawn to HiiL by its focus on ensuring that justice systems respond to people’s everyday needs and lived realities.
She holds a BSc in Agricultural Science and a Master’s degree in Agribusiness from the University of Ghana, as well as a Master’s in Development Management and Evaluation from the University of Antwerp.
Early in her professional journey, Adedolapo managed a rice farm, where she gained insight into the systemic challenges facing smallholder farmers. This experience solidified her interest in policy advocacy and programmes supporting smallholder farmers, with a focus on gender and youth inclusion. Her work subsequently contributed to reforms in Ghana’s fertiliser subsidy programme. Her academic research has examined agricultural policy implementation in Africa, including the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) framework.
Adedolapo is passionate about expanding educational opportunities for children, she believes that access to learning can transform lives. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, exploring new cuisines, and losing herself in a good book.
