Imo State Guidelines

Just as in the medical field, the justice sector is embracing the development of structured guidelines. These are living documents that offer practitioners soft tools, such as communication strategies and de-escalation techniques, to help resolve justice issues effectively.

At HiiL, we create country-specific guidelines informed by Justice Needs and Satisfaction (JNS) data, which highlight the most pressing legal problems faced by people. For Imo State, we adapted the two Ogun guidelines and added a new preventive guideline on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), all tailored to the state’s unique context.

These guidelines are designed for use by both formal and informal justice practitioners, including lawyers, judges, and traditional and religious leaders. They serve as practical references for preventing and resolving justice issues in ways that align with community needs and established good practice.
