Razane Boustany

Project Manager

Razane Boustany is part of the Project Management team at The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL). She supports the development and implementation of HiiL’s projects, in cooperation with HiiL’s three Product Groups, to achieve the deliverables agreed on with specific donors.

Razane seeks to broaden her expertise as she believes versatility is key for professional growth. After her Degrees in Law and Political Science completed between Lebanon and Canada, she pursued a Master’s degree in Italy on Democratic Governance in the MENA region during which she worked on her thesis in Morocco.

Her experience in the MENA region was complemented with experiences in the United States at the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations, and in Europe at the European Parliament and at the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) in Brussels. She co-authored articles covering topics such as securitisation, human rights and democracy in The Arab world.

Personal growth, professional improvement and impact are three words that resonate with Razane’s personality. Being able to combine these three in one job is what she seeks. Her role within the Project Management team gives her the possibility to work on different topics across several countries, but also to help improve existing procedures and processes within HiiL, while learning from others.

Razane has a passion for meeting new people and learning about other cultures. Was it to learn a language or discover a country, she is always up for a new adventure!
