I cherish having the opportunity to collect data and produce evidence-based research that raise community awareness and to be a voice for the voiceless.

Patrick Kimararungu is a Justice Sector Advisor at The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL). He conducts quantitative and qualitative research on access to justice and people-centred solutions by contributing to the daily measurements of the large-scale data of the Justice Needs and Satisfaction Survey (JNS). Patrick holds MA in Economics of Development from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands); Patrick also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Kigali Independent University (Rwanda). Patrick started his research career in Guaranty Trust Bank (Rwanda) as Digital Product Analyst. He later worked at Upinion Netherlands as a Research and Development Analyst in charge of sub-Saharan Africa projects (Mali, Kenya and Mauritania)

Patrick co-authors various scientific papers on “Meta-analysis of the impact of trade linkage, duration and prior relations on sanction success.” Moreover, He has produced findings based on informed research in Mali and Kenya.

Outside of work, Patrick enjoys playing table tennis and watching sports.
