John Ngizimana works at the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) intern. He assists in MEL exercises of the projects and programmes, helps to improve the MEL methodology, and supports donors’ reports. His experience covers a wide range of work in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning in the African Great Lakes region.
John also has extensive experience in mitigating poverty in rural areas of the eastern DRC and supporting vulnerable groups. Prior to joining HiiL, he worked as a Researcher at the Institute for Policy Analysis and Research-IPAR-Rwanda. He worked at Katintimana Foundation Programs in South Kivu as a Head of Operations in charge of Development and vulnerable people.
John also worked as an assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure in DRC to coordinate development projects/infrastructures.
John also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of the Nation of Rwanda and has now started his Master of Art in Development studies at the Institute of Social Studies/Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
Outside of work, John enjoys swimming and watching football or basketball games.
