Rachael Ampaire Mishambi-Wamahe

Programme Manager, Uganda

Creating data driven and evidence-based solutions stands out for me. The data collected alongside the evidence of what works drives the formation of precise solutions and the reward is knowing that even the most vulnerable in society can access justice and in real time.

Rachael is a Programme Manager for the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL). She started at HiiL in 2019. Rachael is specialized in gender and human rights and evidence-based justice. As PM, Rachael is responsible for the local implementation of programmes, focused on evidence-based practices. Rachael holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Uganda Christian University and has undertaken training in Business, Leadership, Women and Gender and Human rights, The justice-based approach and combating SGBV.

Before joining HiiL, Rachael worked for The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA) as part of the Access to Justice team that empowered women, girls and those living with HIV/AIDS in the Karamoja and Central regions, through the creation of rights awareness, streamlining of referral mechanisms and carrying out economic-independence training.

In her free time, Rachael loves to spend time with her family and friends, watch movies and unwind.
