Visiting Chair on Private Actors and Globalisation
With generous support of the Gieskes-Strijbis Foundation and Aegon NV, HiiL has recently established a Visiting Chair on Private Actors and Globalisation.
The Chair has been established with a two-fold aim:
- To contribute to the international and multidisciplinary research agenda in the area of Private Actors and Globalisation and
- To increase the awareness of relevant issues among various, also non-academic audiences.
The substantive parameters for the Chair are to conduct research at the highest international level on private actors and globalisation, looking at the changing role of private actors in the field of governance, norm setting and enforcement in the internationalised environment of today. These objectives should be achieved through research and educational activities, combined with the development of concrete deliverables of academic and/or practical importance.
With this Chair HiiL seeks to strengthen its research activities in the area of private actors and globalisation, by linking the work of the Chair to the HiiL funded research project Private Transnational Regulation: Constitutional Foundations and Governance Design.
