Hague Visiting Chair on the Rule of Law
HiiL has established the world’s first Chair on the Rule of Law. The Chair is open for a Visiting Professor of high repute (national or international). It is connected with HiiL, but has accreditation from the Dutch universities that cooperate with HiiL on this project.
The mission and mandate of the Chair is to conduct research at the highest international level on the Rule of Law, looking at its role as a basis for international peace and stability and enhancing its understanding and development in the globalising world of today.
The Hague Visiting Chair on the Rule of Law is a project within the Topklas-in-residence programme of the Municipality of The Hague. The strong focus on young talent in The Hague is central to the project.
HiiL carries out the first Visiting Chair in partnership with the Van Vollenhoven Institute of Leiden University.
