Fellowship and Visiting Chairs

Together with partners, HiiL has created three visiting chairs and a fellowship, enabling top level academics to work for a certain period on research that ties in with the HiiL Research Programme.

The HiiL-UM Chair on the Internationalisation of Law has been set up together with the University of Maastricht and is funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. Together with NIAS, HiiL offers the Henry G. Schermers Fellowship to prominent researchers. The Municipality of The Hague contributed towards the Hague Visiting Chair on the Rule of Law, which HiiL organises together with various Dutch universities, starting in 2010 with Leiden University. Most recently, HiiL has established a Visiting Chair on Private Actors and Globalisation with the generous support of the Gieskes-Strijbis Foundation and Aegon.
