Ewoud Hondius
Ewoud Hondius (1942) studied Dutch Law at Leiden University and Comparative Law at Columbia University (New York). From 1966-1980 he worked at Leiden University, his last position there was Professor of Private Law. As of 1980 he holds the same position at Utrecht University. His publications deal primarily with consumer law, European private law and contract law. He serves as editor in chief of the European Review of Private Law and for almost twenty years he was editor in chief of Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Burgerlijk Recht (Dutch Journal of Private Law) and its predecessor. Furthermore, he is a member of the Koninklijke Neder¬landse Akade¬mie van Wetenschappen (Royal Academy of Sciences) and deputy judge at the Amsterdam Court of Appeals. He was guestlecturer at the Universities of Gent, Hamburg (Bucerius), Kyoto (Ritsumeikan), London (Queen Mary), Louisiana State University, Paris I and Sydney.
