Six years of Innovating Justice Awards, what have we achieved?

HiiL’s Justice Accelerator comes across hundreds of practical justice solutions every year that really make a difference. From measuring HiiL’s social impact the data concludes that our community is helping a total of 1.424.100 direct users. They help in one or a combination of three ways; Justice policies, Legal services and Rights awareness.

An innovative plan developed by HiiL selected as a winner of the Dutch Divorce Challenge

An innovative plan HiiL developed to deal with the problems caused by the current divorce procedures in the Netherlands was selected as a winner from 500 submissions to the Dutch Divorce Challenge. HiiL’s divorce plan was commended for its long-term approach to childcare in the context of separation, processes that manages conflict and fosters dialogue and negotiation and finally reduces uncertainty and tension and the associated psychological outcomes. The Ministry of Security and Justice will contribute to the further development of the proposal and establish a committee to support its vision of extending a peaceful divorce procedure throughout the Netherlands.

Workshop on Innovations in Employment Disputes Resolution in Ukraine

On 12th December 2016, “Innovations in Employment Disputes Resolution in Ukraine” brought multiple perspectives of employment dispute stakeholders together to “make the data work”. Building on HiiL’s report published in March 2016, Justice Needs in Ukraine: Legal Problems in Daily Life stakeholders participated for the purpose of widening and deepening knowledge of justice needs of citizens and delivering an action plan for an innovative process for resolving justice needs around employment in Ukraine. Malians get legal help through transparent IT platform

Tien Sira is a program run by DemeSo that is actively providing access to justice and upholding human rights by efficient, user-focused service and extending protection to vulnerable groups of women, children, victims and witnesses. Tien Sira will touch around 3 million citizens in Mali, particularly the populations of rural areas, providing access to justice that is universal and more fair by supporting those typically disadvantaged.
