1 - 3 July 2010: Third Expert Meeting of the International Expert Framework (IEF)

On 1 and 3 July 2010 HiiL and Amsterdam Center for International Law held the Third and final Expert Meeting of International Expert Framework on International Criminal Procedure, in The Hague.

This final Expert Meeting gathered the members of the Steering Board, Advisory Board and Working Groups with the aim to present and discuss reports on particular aspects of international criminal procedure, as prepared by Working Groups. At this meeting, the high-level Advisory Board, pre-eminent judges from national and international criminal jurisdictions, were officially introduced to the project. The Advisory Board members commented on the general principles and recommendations of each Working Group. Subsequently, the Expert Group attempted to reach an agreement on proposed general rules and principles of international criminal procedure in order to proceed towards the finalisation of their reports and publication.
