HiiL 2nd Interdisciplinary Career Day 2015

5 November 2015

We are opening our doors to welcome students and professionals from various cultural and academic backgrounds who are passionate about justice and want to make a difference in the world!

Thursday, 5 November 2015 | 14:00 – 18:00 | HiiL premises

We are offering a unique opportunity to:

  • Experience what it is like to be a HiiL’er
  • Learn more about innovation in the justice field
  • Learn more about our career and internship opportunities
  • Network with us and other great talents who are joining the event
  • Get inspired and intellectually stimulated!

In addition, you will have the opportunity to work together with other motivated talents under the guidance of one of the Heads of our Service Groups on a specific challenge which you can choose from below.

Justice Technology Challenge
If you’d like to get into the shoes of a technologically adept justice innovator, join the Justice Technology Team. The team will provide you with insights into the success of the Rechtwijzer platform - an online dispute resolution solution. What if we would innovate our legal system with the same disruptiveness as Uber brings? If we would design our legal procedures with the same focus on a great user experience as Apple designs its devices? And we would be able to make legal procedures work with the simplicity of Google?

You will learn more about our Rechtwijzer platform that is currently available in the Netherlands and the UK, and helps people get a divorce. After that, we will challenge you to conceptually design an application feature for the platform and to strategise.

Communications Challenge
Take up the challenge of designing a social media campaign for our Innovating Justice Forum, which will take place in the Peace Palace on 3-4 December 2015. Photoshoping a photo with a quote in real time, or hosting a live-twitter session, what are some strategies that will get the event the most visibility on social media? Our Communications Team will facilitate and trigger your most courageuos ideas.

Innovating Justice Challenge
Join our Innovating Justice Accelerator Team on the search for the most interesting and impactful innovations in the field of justice and get an experience in innovative problem solving.

Measuring Justice Challenge
Our Measuring Justice Team invites you to participate in a geo-tagged justice needs mini-hackathon. HiiL collects justice data bottom-up. Our data is about the justice needs and experiences of people. During our mini-hackathon you will play with data and find innovative ways to put it into action. Together with your fellow talents you will design a prototype of app/s based on the data and present your designs. Of course, all this will be achieved through fun!

At the end of the day, the event will conclude with networking drinks: a great opportunity to have your questions answered and create new connections.
